BPI (Building Performance Institute)  – BPI is recognized as a national standards development organization for residential energy efficiency and retrofit work. As an independeant, not-for-profit organization, they bring together leading building science experts to develop standards using a consensus-based methodology to ensure all styles and types of dwellings are included, and all climate zones are covered. RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) – RESNET was formed in 1995 to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages. RESNET’s standards are officially recognized by the federal government for verification of building energy performance for such programs as federal tax incentives and the Energy Star program for residential construction. RESNET standards are also recognized by the U.S. mortgage industry for capitalizing a building’s energy performance in mortgage loans such as Energy Improvement Mortgages (EIM). LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) - LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system.  Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building contractors and building owners with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measureable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.  A LEED-certified home is designed and constructed in accordance with the rigorous guidelines of the LEED for Homes green building certification program.
